Like the many people and companies you see in these pages, Edible Ohio Valley is a locally owned small business. And there’s no bigger supporter of both the magazine and our partners than Amy Paul. Amy is retiring after 11 years leading our advertising team (actually, she was the advertising team for much of that time), and I’m pretty sure we wouldn’t be publishing this beautiful magazine without her.
I think of Amy as the ultimate doer, who went to all the events, delivered countless boxes of magazines, repped Edible at community meetings. She has a deep devotion to the success of our partners, the farms and restaurants and businesses that make our local food economy go round.
When Amy got involved with Edible, local food wasn’t really a thing. She told me she’s especially proud “that so many of the initiatives we write about—SNAP, cooking for the family, innovative farming practices—are thriving and making a difference. And Edible is a part of that continued success.”
Carrying on her work are Marianne Pugh, who joined our small and mighty group in 2021, and Kate Staiger, who came onboard earlier this year. Amy says she feels confident that our partner relationships are in good hands: “Marianne brings fresh energy and skills, and Kate is the model Edible reader, and she’s so excited to be a part of this. Having them involved makes me feel free to move on.”
We’re so grateful for Amy’s passion, enthusiasm, and commitment—and her time. And we can’t wait to see what’s next for Edible, for our partners, and for our community.
